        • In the\u00a0four quarters to the end of Q3 2025<\/strong>, total\u00a0trade in goods and services between the UK and India<\/strong>\u00a0reached about\u00a0\u00a347.4 billion<\/strong>, an increase of roughly\u00a011.7%<\/strong>\u00a0compared with the previous four-quarter period.<\/li>
        • Over this period, the UK recorded a\u00a0total trade deficit of about \u00a39.6 billion<\/strong>\u00a0with India.<\/li>
        • For the\u00a0four quarters to the end of Q3 2024<\/strong>, bilateral\u00a0trade in goods<\/strong>\u00a0was about\u00a0\u00a317.7 billion<\/strong>\u00a0(India\u2019s exports to the UK around\u00a0\u00a310.1 billion<\/strong>\u00a0and imports from the UK around\u00a0\u00a37.6 billion<\/strong>), while\u00a0trade in services<\/strong>\u00a0was about\u00a0\u00a323.1 billion<\/strong>\u00a0(India\u2019s exports around\u00a0\u00a313.3 billion<\/strong>\u00a0and imports around\u00a0\u00a39.8 billion<\/strong>).<\/li>
        • On the Indian side,\u00a0FY25 bilateral trade in goods with the UK<\/strong>\u00a0stood at approximately\u00a0US$ 23.1 billion<\/strong>, up from about\u00a0US$ 21.3 billion<\/strong>\u00a0in FY24, with India enjoying a merchandise\u00a0trade surplus of about US$ 5.9 billion<\/strong>. The UK is among the top sources of FDI into India, with cumulative inflows of over\u00a0US$ 35 billion<\/strong>\u00a0since 2000.<\/li>
        • The\u00a0India\u2013UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA)<\/strong>\u00a0was formally concluded in May 2025 and\u00a0signed on 24 July 2025<\/strong>. It aims to roughly\u00a0double overall bilateral trade in goods and services to around US$ 120 billion by 2030<\/strong>\u00a0and is projected to\u00a0increase UK GDP by about \u00a34.8 billion and UK wages by about \u00a32.2 billion annually<\/strong>\u00a0in the long run.<\/li>
        • Under the FTA, the\u00a0UK will eliminate customs duties on 100% of its tariff lines over a seven-year period<\/strong>, covering about\u00a099.6% of Indian exports by value<\/strong>. India will provide\u00a0tariff elimination or reduction on more than 80% of UK tariff lines over a ten-year schedule<\/strong>, representing about\u00a070% of India\u2019s imports from the UK<\/strong>.<\/li>
        • According to UK government estimates, India will\u00a0remove or reduce tariffs (or maintain existing zero tariffs) on roughly 90% of UK tariff lines<\/strong>, covering around\u00a092% of existing UK goods exports to India<\/strong>. This is expected to\u00a0cut Indian tariffs on UK exports by about \u00a3400 million annually initially, rising to around \u00a3900 million after ten years<\/strong>, and to\u00a0increase bilateral trade by approximately \u00a325.5 billion per year<\/strong>\u00a0in the long run.<\/li>
        • Key beneficiary sectors include Indian exports such as\u00a0textiles, leather, gems and jewellery, marine products, chemicals, engineering goods and toys<\/strong>, and UK exports such as\u00a0spirits (especially whisky and gin), automobiles, aerospace components, medical devices, electrical machinery, and selected food products<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/details>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t
